6.5.9 Expansion and Contraction of Supports
Text:
Structural supports shall be selected and installed in
such a manner that thermal expansion of the collector and piping
will not cause damage to the collector structural frame or the
building.
Comments:
SRCC has approved the manufacturer's recommended structural
support materials and installation methods. Installers must use
the manufacturer supplied materials and follow instructions in
the manufacturer's SRCC approved installation manual.
Note
the various structural supports in Figure 1. These include: (A)
the mounting hardware at the roof, (B) the struts used to provide
the required tilt, and (C) the mounting hardware used to connect
the strut to the collector.
