Means
shall be provided to protect the SWH system within the design
limits of temperature and pressure.
Comments:
The differential controller high limit switch can be
used to meet this requirement. (See Figure 1) (See also 6.3.5
High Temperature Control)

systems not using a differential controller, proper system design
and sizing may address the requirements of this criterion.
Installers
must use the system components and plumbing strategy provided
by the SRCC certified manufacturer (See Figure 2). Individual
systems must also be sized for the specific load – family
size.
