6.1.2.7 Collector Circulation Control
Criterion
text:
The
collector subsystem control shall be designed to be compatible
with control requirements of the system.
Comments:
The control system must do what the solar system needs
to operate properly. The system was designed with an appropriate
controller. Therefore, the installer must use the system control
method that the system was SRCC certified with. The manufacturer
and SRCC have verified that the various control strategies are
compatible.
For
example, in systems using a photovoltaic module as the control
method, SRCC has verified that the match between the photovoltaic
module (Figure 1) and the DC pump (Figure 2) is suitable for proper
system operation. Otherwise, if these two components are incompatible,
this would greatly affect system operation and performance.

Figure 2
For
a system using an automatic draindown valve, the control outputs
have been verified to be suitable for use with the specified valve.
For those systems using freeze recirculation in warm climates,
the differential controller (Figure 3) strategy provides this
feature. Once again, install what has been provided with the SRCC
certified system.
