6.3.5 High Temperature Control

Means
shall be provided to limit tank temperatures to a value not to
exceed the tank supplier's specified high temperature limit. The
pressure/temperature relief valve shall not be used for this purpose
under normal operating conditions.
Comments:
Installers must set the high limit temperature limit
correctly on the differential controller. (Figure 1)

In
systems that do not use a differential controller, this requirement
must be met by proper system design, i.e., using the correctly
sized components. Installer must install only those components
approved for a specific system.
Any actions required of the homeowner must be fully described
in the operation manual.
