6.1.6.5 Water Shut-Off
Criterion

The
SWH system shall be valved to provide for shut-off from the service
water supply without interrupting normal cold water service to
the residence.
Comments:
The installer must follow the manufacturer's installation
instructions and also be aware of the cold service shut-off valve
and how it relates to the connected water heater. The SRCC approved
system installation manual also provides a reference schematic
of the location of the various system components and valves.
Figure
1 indicates the service shut-off valve to the water heater.
