Criterion 6.2.10 Buried Components

Criterion text:
Solar components and materials that are intended to be buried in soils shall be protected from degradation under in-service conditions to insure that their function shall not be impaired.

Comments:
Installer should follow the manufacturer's installation instructions regarding the method used to install buried components. Approved industry methods and material must be used. Installations must also follow local code requirements.

When burying components, especially piping, the type of local soil and its chemical reaction upon piping and insulation must be considered. Figure 1 illustrates a ground mount of two ICS systems with buried pipe and structural components.
