6.3.10 Backflow
Criterion
text:
Means
shall be provided to prevent backflow of non-potable fluids into
the potable water system.
Comments:
Installer
must follow the directions provided in the SRCC approved installation
manual and also be aware of local code requirements regarding
this issue.
Many
jurisdictions require that a check valve be installed in the service
line to prevent water that has entered the home from flowing back
into the water supply system. When a check valve is installed,
an expansion tank is also required in the water supply plumbing
