Interim certification is designed to allow products to obtain limited SRCC certification on an expedited basis until full performance testing of a product has been completed. Interim Certification requires that a solar collector model undergo standard qualification tests (stagnation, shock, and pressure tests, along with a disassembly inspection) to verify its durability, as specified in SRCC Standard 100. However, the thermal efficiency test requirement is postponed until a laboratory can conduct a complete efficiency test. A temporary efficiency equation is assigned to the collector, based on a minimal collector performance level as designated by SRCC, until the full OG-100 certification, including the efficiency test is completed.
Please refer to the Interim Collector Certification Policy document for additional information.
Requirements for Interim Certification
Interim certification adds the following to the normal OG-100 certification sequence:
- Random selection of a second collector
- Qualification testing of two collectors
- Disassembly of the first collector immediately following the quality test
- An interim collector certification fee
