Criterion 6.4.4 Waste Disposal

Criterion text:
Systems utilizing a toxic heat transfer fluid or thermal storage fluid shall provide for the catchments and harmless removal of these fluids from vents where fluid may be automatically discharged.

Comments:
Installers must thoroughly understand and follow the installation instructions provided in the manufacturer's SRCC approved installation manual. The attachment of warning tags and labels at all fill and drain ports as well as catchments areas is critical.

Special care must be taken to provide a means to route, catch and remove toxic fluids when expelled from the system. Installers must not let this fluid accumulate in the open where persons or pets could be dangerously affected by contact with the vented fluid.
