Criterion 6.5.2 Auxiliary System

Criterion text:
Interconnection of the auxiliary system to the solar energy system shall be made in a manner which will not result in excessive temperature or pressure in the auxiliary system or bypassing of safety devices of the auxiliary system.

Comments:

This criterion specifies that temperature and pressure relief valves must be installed on the auxiliary tank and within all isolatable portions of the subsystem.

If the solar portion of the system (including the solar storage tank) is isolated, the auxiliary tank will then have its own temperature and pressure relief devices (See Figure 1).
